| Question: |
I am eligible to use the iris automated clearance, but I have not registered for Macao’s automated immigration clearance. Can I still register for iris automated clearance? If so, what is the registration procedure? |
| Answer: |
Prior to registering for iris automated clearance, eligible individuals are required to first register for the Macao automated immigration clearance before they can proceed with the registration for iris automated clearance.
Method I: Individuals who have not yet registered for the Macao automated immigration clearance may, upon arrival in Macao, proceed to the designated locations at the following checkpoints for manual iris biometrics registration. At these locations, registration for both the Macao automated immigration clearance and iris automated clearance can be completed in one single manual process.
| Locations for manual registration of iris biometrics |
Service Hours |
Border Gate Checkpoint
(Counter No. 42 at Arrival Hall; Counter No. 15 at Departure Hall) |
10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. |
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Checkpoint
(Hong Kong to Macao Arrival Hall on ground floor; Departure Office at Macao to Hong Kong Departure Hall) |
Taipa Ferry Terminal Checkpoint
(E-Channel service registration zone at the Arrival Hall) |
Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal Checkpoint
(E-Channel service registration zone at Arrival Hall) |

Method 2: Individuals who have not yet registered for the Macao automated immigration clearance may, upon arrival in Macao, proceed to the registration locations at the relevant immigration checkpoints, the Immigration Building of the Public Security Police Force at Pac On, and the Government Integrated Service Center to complete the registration procedures for using the automated immigration clearance. Subsequently, when they first use the “iris automated channels” equipped with the self-registration function, they may, after fingerprint verification, register their iris biometrics and complete the immigration clearance in the same passage.
