Question:
How can eligible Hong Kong residents register to use Macao’s automated immigration clearance services of Macao?
Answer:
Eligible Hong Kong residents aged 18 or above can register for using the automated immigration clearance services of Macao at any of the self-service registration kiosks installed by the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong SAR. Alternatively, on arrival in Macao they can register, through manual process, at the registration locations designated by the Macao Public Security Police Force. For those eligible Hong Kong Permanent Residents aged 7 to 17, as well as eligible Hong Kong Non-permanent residents aged 11 to 17, they can register in person at the designated registration locations in Macao. But these underage indiviudals must be accompanied by either parent or the guardian, along with presenting their original birth certificate and the identity document of his either parent or the guardian (A valid document proving legal guardianship should be presented if the registrant is accompanied by the guardian.). Due to the fact that Hong Kong Permanent Residents that aged 7 to 10 do not have photos on their identity cards, they are required to present, during registration, their Hong Kong SAR Passports for identity verification.
