Question: |
For foreign visitors who are required to apply for a “Macao visa” or “Entry Permit” (aka “Visa-upon-arrival”), can they go through on-board clearance at the Macao Port of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge? |
Answer: |
No. The above-mentioned persons are required to undergo the arrival formalities at the arrival hall of the said Port or at the Clearance Hall for On-board Passengers near the arrival vehicle channels. They are not allowed to go through on-board clearance upon arrival for the time being, but they may go through on-board clearance for departure. Visitors who are not exempted from a visa and entry permit (click the following link to view the list of countries of which the nationals are granted visa-free entry into Macao: https://www.gov.mo/en/services/ps-1474/ps-1474b/) may choose to apply in advance at any diplomatic mission of the People’s Republic of China for a “Macao visa”, or apply for “Authorization to Enter and Stay” (aka ‘visa-upon-arrival’) upon arrival at Macao; among them, visitors from Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are required to apply for a “Macao visa” prior entry into Macao, “visa-upon-arrival” is not applicable to them. (Note: holders of diplomatic passports are still granted visa-free access. Moreover, the officials of the diplomatic missions of the above-mentioned six countries and officials of the representative offices of various international organizations stationed in China and their family can apply for “visa-upon-arrival” with their passport, diplomatic/consular identity card or staff card upon entry into Macao.) |
