Applications for extension of Authorization to Stay (for an accumulative total of no more than 90 days) should be submitted to the Residence and Stay Affairs Department 5 days before the expiry of the Authorization to Stay or extended Authorization to Stay, except for applications with reasonable justification. Applications for exceptional extension of Authorization to Stay should be addressed to the Chief Executive and submitted 10 days before the expiry of the above period.

Applicants should be careful about the date of application. We can refuse to accept applications which are submitted later than the limited period or applications which obviously lack a justification. Overstay cases will be handled according to the stipulations regarding overstay in the Legal Regime of Immigration Control, Stay and Residence Authorization of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
