17/7/2025 Press Release:Macao's traditional automated channel service to extend to French, Malaysian and Spanish nationals
As stated in the Policy Address for the Fiscal Year 2025, the Macao SAR Government will be focusing on the positioning of “One Centre, One Platform, One Base” and adopting strategies to “Go North, Down South, Move West, Navigate East”, which help Macao become the important bridgehead for the national high-level opening up to the outside world. The Public Security Police Force will actively support this policy initiative and continue to roll out immigration facilitation measures, e.g. expanding progressively the scope of international visitors eligible for using the automated channel service, so as to further promote the facilitation of immigration clearance.

In a bid to further enhance the facilitation of immigration clearance for international visitors, with effect from 21 July 2025, our Force extends the categories of eligible groups by allowing French, Malaysian and Spanish nationals to use the conventional two-gate e-Channels to process immigration formalities in Macao.

Nationals of France, Malaysia, or Spain aged 18 or above may use the traditional automated channels for convenient immigration clearance upon completion of registration. Eligible applicants should complete the registration in person at the designated locations (see notes) with their valid passport. Minors aged 7 to 17 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during registration. The original birth certificate of the minor and the proof of identity of the accompanying parent or guardian should be produced (If accompanied by a guardian, the proof of legal relationship should also be provided).

Nationals of six visa-exempt countries (Australia, Brazil, Germany, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore) currently may use the expedited automated immigration clearance service and have been eligible for the on-board clearance service for passengers in a vehicle that seats nine people or below at the Macao Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge since 9 June 2025. Both services will be extended to nationals of France, Malaysia, and Spain on 21 July 2025. (Further details: https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/ROh8QUHx3y7xJra0QeR2-w)

Our Force will continue to uphold the concepts of “continuous enhancement” and “reformative innovation”, constantly explore and implement enhanced and facilitative clearance measures, strive to provide passengers with a safer and more convenient clearance experience, and fully promote the efficient flow of people, thereby injecting impetus into the construction and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Notes:
1. All passengers may use the manual counters for immigration clearance no matter they have completed the registration formalities or not.
2. Passports of the registrants must be valid for more than 90 days.
3. Registration locations, time and enquiries
