Frequently Asked Questions > Immigration > “Smart Immigration Clearance” Launched for the One-stop Joint Services Lanes at Hengqin Port

Question:
What does a passenger need to know when using the “Smart Immigration Clearance” at the One-stop Joint Services Lanes?
Answer:
When using the “Smart Immigration Clearance” at the One-stop Joint Services Lanes, passengers must first submit their fingerprint data at the “one-stop personal data collection kiosk”. Once the system announces, 'Identity data retrieval completed,' passengers should keep their fingers pressed against the fingerprint scanner to allow for the verification of their fingerprint and facial data. Successful identity verification thereby concludes the immigration clearance process for both Macao and Hengqin in one go.
If fingerprint quality prevents the “Smart Immigration Clearance” system from retrieving identity document data, the system voice prompt will play: 'Data retrieval failed. Please present your identity document.' Passengers must then proceed to a “document scan” to complete their immigration clearance.
Reminder: physical documentation must be maintained throughout the immigration clearance if it is required for inspection by the immigration officers.
