How to choose between “face scan” and “card scan” when using the “Smart Immigration Clearance” (Document-free Immigration Clearance)?
Answer:
Both “face scan” and “card scan” are supported by the “Smart Immigration Clearance” channels, but “card scan” is, in principle, given priority by the system, in a bid to cater the diverse needs of tourists and enhance flexibility of their journeys. The system will be fixed to the “card scan” clearance mode if a physical identity document is first detected. On the other hand, it will lock into the “face scan” clearance mode upon detection of the recorded facial image.
