Question:
Can underage Hong Kong residents aged 7 or above use iris recognition for automated immigration clearance?
Answer:
Hong Kong Permanent Residents that aged 7 or above and at least 1.2 meters tall, provided having registered for using Macao’s automated immigration clearance service, can register, through manual process, for Macao’s iris recognition for immigration clearance. Eligible Hong Kong Permanent Resident that aged 7 to 17, can register, in person, at the registration locations in Macao. However, they are required to be accompanied by either parent or the guardian and to present the original birth certificate, along with the identity document of their either parent or the guardian (a legal proof of guardianship is required if accompanied by the guardian). Given the identity cards of Hong Kong Permanent Residents that aged 7 to 10 do not include any photos, they should produce their Hong Kong SAR Passport during the registration.

Currently iris recognition for immigration clearance in Macao are not extended to Hong Kong Non-permanent Residents.
