To use the My Border Crossing QR code for immigration clearance at the ports in Hong Kong, Macao residents should confirm in advance that they have registered for using the Hong Kong e-Channel service. Then, they should update their Macao One Account mobile app so that a My Border Crossing QR code which can be used at the Hong Kong e-Channels can be generated. That QR code contains the words ‘for crossing Macao border and using Hong Kong e-Channel’. When the Macao residents enter or exit Hong Kong, they can scan the QR code in front of the first gate of a Hong Kong e-Channel instead of providing the physical identity card. The rest of the clearance procedures remain the same. The My Border Crossing QR code is not applicable at the manned channels at the ports in Hong Kong.
