Question:
If I encounter failure in fingerprint verification when using the Hong Kong-Macao Border-crossing QR Code for automated immigration clearance, do I need to present my physical identity card to a police officer?
Answer:
Under normal circumstances, it is necessary to present the physical identity card to the officer on the spot for verification when fingerprint verification fails during automated immigration clearance. The passenger will be released after the identity is verified.

Macao residents who encounter the above situation at a Macao port can click the ‘View electronic identity’ button at the bottom of the My Border Crossing QR code and show the page to the police officer. They can be released after the identity is verified.
