It is one of the most popular cities for tourism in the world. While experiencing the exceptional charm of this special metropolis, visitors should take good care of their personal belongings. When attending major events or going to crowded places, they should pay extra attention and follow the instructions of the police officers on site. If a visitor loses his or her entry document during the stay in Macao, he or she may seek assistance by following the instructions below: |

When discovering that his or her entry document is lost and there is no alternative document for departure, the visitor should stay calm first. Then, he or she should check if any other belongings are lost and if criminal element is involved (e.g. theft or robbery of the document, etc.): |

If only the entry document is lost, the visitor can go directly to our Immigration Building (Address: Travessa Um do Cais de Pac On, Taipa) for report of the loss of the document as well as for application for a departure document (“Loss of Document and Report Notification” or “Declaration of Loss of Document”); |

If there is any loss of belongings or criminal element is involved, the visitor should first go to the Judiciary Police or a police station of the Public Security Police Force to report the case. After obtaining a Case Report Certificate or a Case Reporting Receipt, the visitor should go to the Immigration Building to complete the formalities as mentioned above. |
| II. |
The visitor should apply to the consulate or diplomatic representation in Macao/Hong Kong/Mainland China for a one-off travel document before the departure document expires. Visitors who apply for the document at Hong Kong/Mainland China may return to their place of origin after obtaining the document. Other visitors should present the departure document together with the one-off travel document for information verification and departure formalities during departure from Macao. If the visitor continues to remain in Macao after the departure document expires and without other valid Authorization to Stay, he or she will be regarded as overstaying in Macao. |
