Persons who are granted a "Residence Certificate" by the Immigration Department may apply for reissue of the document if it is lost, damaged or stolen before its expiry (valid for 90 days).

Persons whose "Residence Certificate" is lost, damaged or stolen before its expiry (valid for 90 days) and hence need to apply for reissue of the document
  Application Approach
The interested person or his/her legal representative applies to the respective Subdivision during office hours.
In case of loss or theft, the interested person should first report the case to the police and then apply for reissue with the case reporting certificate.
The legal representative should submit:
    (1) A certified letter of authorization;
A copy of his/her valid identification document (the original should be exhibited for authentication).

  Applying in person
An application letter with reasonable justification [Note: The "application letter" template is available at the respective Subdivision and the website of the Public Security Police Force];
"Report Testimonial" or "Complaint Notification" issued at a police department (in case of loss or theft);
Copy of the interested person's "P.R.C. Permit for Travelling to Hong Kong and Macao" or valid passport / travel document (bio data page only) or identification document used for entry to and departure from Macao.

  1. A certified letter of authorization;
  2. Copy of representative's valid identification document;
  3. All the necessary documents to be submitted when "applying in person".

  Quality Criteria
  By 16:00 of the next working [Please see Remark 2.]
Interested persons under 18 years old should have their applications tendered by the parent or guardian, who is required to submit a copy of his/her identification document. The guardian should also submit a copy of the proof of relationship with the interested person.
"Quality Criterion" refers to the time of processing required by service units (excluding time of waiting in a queue) calculated in the following manner: from the next working day following the day when the service unit received and confirmed that all the required documents had been correctly prepared.
